Week 6 SF War Eagles 23 Creekview 28
For the second week in a row, South Forsyth was unable to hold on to a three-point halftime lead. Key defensive plays made the difference in the second half Friday night, as Creekview eked out a 28-23 win over the War Eagles at The Grizzly Den. One week after watching a 10-7 lead against Sequoyah slip away in the second half, South (2-4 overall, 2-4 Region 7-AAAA) couldn’t maintain a 17-14 halftime lead against Creekview. For the Grizzlies (2-5, 2-5), the victory ended a five-game losing streak. A pair of touchdown saving tackles by Creekview in the second half cost South opportunities to score.

Week 5 SF War Eagles 17 Sequoyah 24
South Forsyth jumped out to an early 10-0 lead Friday night, but the advantage couldn’t withstand Sequoyah’s punishing ground attack.
The Eagles were outscored 17-7 in the second half — led by two rushing touchdowns from Sequoyah running back Blake Ingleton — and suffered a 24-17 loss on homecoming night at War Eagle Field.
“We didn’t make the plays that it was going to take to win the game and they made them, so they won,” said South coach Jeff Arnette.

War Eagles in the news
Turnovers, big plays hurt South in scrimmage
The laundry list came into focus Friday night for Jeff Arnette.
South Forsyth’s head coach had plenty to mull over following a 32-25 scrimmage loss to Winder-Barrow on Friday at War Eagle Field, a performance that highlighted the War Eagles’ strengths — and several weaknesses.
Though starting quarterback Jantzen Jeffrey threw for 230 yards and two touchdowns and fullback Brett Larkin added a pair of rushing scores, South committed five turnovers and allowed Bulldoggs running back Jamonte Riden to score three first half touchdowns.
